Situated on Grindstone Creek, giving it year-round flow, Great Falls is a 10m high classic waterfall. Having year-round flow made the location ideal for industrialization and numerous water powered mills were built along this stretch of river, including a saw mill at the foot of Great Falls itself.
The city has forbidden access to the foot of Great Falls and placed a "No Trespassing" sign at the start of the creek-side trail that leads to the foot of the falls.
